The World I Know

Has our conscience shown?
Has the sweet breeze blown?
Has all the kindness gone?
Hope still lingers on.
I drink myself of newfound pity
Sitting alone in New York City
And I don't know why.

Are we listening
To hymns of offering?
Have we eyes to see
That love is gathering?
All the words that I've been reading
Have now started the act of bleeding
Into one.

So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
As the tears roll down.
'Cause it's the world I know.
It's the world I know.

This is for those out there who are on the verge of giving up. We all know there's no other way but to keep moving forward and leave the rest to the Big Guy up there. Once we decide to take our own lives away, we're headed for eternal misery. The world now is the world we know and are familiar with. Although it's full of woe and despair, all we can do is to hang on and things will take a turn for the better. Climb up to the top of a building and look down at the world below. That's the world we know, and there's a place for each and every one of us here.

I've been so into music nowadays. I know I've always been, but I feel I'm heading towards a different direction, music-wise. Been into various genres, from purely acoustic to those with dramatic orchestras in the background. Best of all, I've started to understand the lyrics to each song deeper. It's interesting how we can relate to so many songs. SO many. I can't imagine the world without music. I think that's the thing that holds most of us sane.

Passenger Seat

I roll the window down
And then begin to breathe in
The darkest country road
And the strong scent of evergreen
From the passenger seat as you are driving me home

Then looking upwards
I strain my eyes
And try to tell the difference
Between shooting stars and satellites
From the passenger seat as you are driving me home

"Do they collide?"
I ask and you smile
With my feet on the dash
The world doesn't matter

When you feel embarrassed then I'll be your pride
When you need directions then I'll be the guide
For all time
For all time

This is our song.
Somewhat familiar, isn't it?
Me... on the passenger seat.
*smile*
