Strawberry and Oatmeal Swirls

Ever since coming back for the holidays i've been going out for breakfast daily. if it's not hakka mee or wantan mee or char koay teow or nasi lemak any other carbo+fat-rich food with my parents, it's dimsum with Sharmaine. very typically Malaysian.

how fattening is that!

therefore today i decided to be HEALTHY and made my own breakfast which i learnt from who else but Nigella Lawson. it's really simple, trust me, ANYONE can do this... unless he/she is intellectually challenged. and it's delicious too =)

Strawberry and Oatmeal Swirls
(it is originally Raspberry and Oatmeal Swirls but i couldn't be bothered to go hunt for raspberries here so i substituted them with strawberries)

Ingredients :

  • 4 tsps icing sugar
  • 250g fresh/frozen strawberries

  • 3 oatmeal biscuits - crushed

  • 500g Greek yoghurt

Instructions :

  • Blend strawberries and sugar. Puree until they make a vibrant pink sauce.
  • Gather 6 glasses (approx. 150ml), spoon 1-2 tsps of strawberry puree into each glass.
  • Then dollop in the glass about a couple of tbsps of yoghurt, then sprinkle on a layer of biscuit crumbs on top of that.
  • Repeat and do 2 layers of each in the glasses.

Final product! Refrigerate for awhile to allow it to chill or you can eat it straightaway.

Healthy and guilt-free!

p/s : i know this is unrelated, but... MUST WATCH : this and then this.
