I love Hong Kong! the weather was great during my time there (14-20°C)... but unfortunately it's still as polluted as it always has been that sometimes i found it quite difficult to breathe.
bad air! this was taken in the afternoon.
i also realised that things there have become much more expensive, especially the food! really disappointing. nonetheless the quality is still there and most of the meals i had were wonderful.
Hong Kong dimsum at its best. we tried 2 places for dimsum at Tsim Sha Tsui over at the Kowloon side : Tong Chiu and Tao Heung, both along Canton road.
Chinese desserts @ The Sweet Dynasty. This was our favourite meal place because of its location (directly opposite our hotel), the DAMN GOOD food (desserts, dim sum, noodles, rice with dishes...), and we went there so many times that they gave us a good discount for our last few meals. LOL.

You can't leave Hong Kong before having some good roasted goose rice and their famous lai cha (milk tea).
there is no doubt that Hong Kong is still the best place in our region for shopping, and it's important to choose a strategic hotel to stay at if your sole reason for going to Hong Kong is shopping. we decided to stay at the Marco Polo Prince Hotel in Kowloon, which was great because located below the hotel was the gigantic Harbour City Mall! basically we were staying above the likes of high-end stores like Louis Vuitton, Emporio Armani, Chanel, Coach... etc. the hotel is also a walking distance to the train station, and we can cross over to Hong Kong Island in under half an hour where there is a bigger abundance of shopping malls like those at Causeway Bay (Times Square, Sogo)...
the variety of goods here, be it branded goods or those of cheaper range, is astounding. although we do have many branded stores in KL, there are many things in those stores that aren't sold in KL but are sold in Hong Kong (e.g. certain things from Coach, Gucci, Zara, Club Monaco, G2000). prices are about the same although i did find certain things that are slightly cheaper in Hong Kong than in Malaysia, but it's definitely the variety that we go to Hong Kong for.
Hong Kong nightlife! need i say more? i don't think the people here sleep at all. you can go out on the streets at midnight ON A WEEKDAY and still find it difficult to make your way through because of the crowd. and look at the view of the skyline. gorgeous.
Hong Kong is an amazing city - advanced, reasonably clean, but perhaps too fast-paced for my liking. it's fun to go there for a holiday... shop, eat, shop, eat (basically just splash your money around =P)... haha. language isn't a problem for me because i can speak Cantonese and more and more Hong Kong people are starting to pick up English anyway. plus it's only about 3.5 hours away by air and you can almost always nab good discounts on airfares (try Cathay Pacific) and hotel rates. it's a place for everyone, from upper-end shoppers to those who want to shop thriftily, from the adventurous to luxurious holidaymakers. food is abundant and there are many things to see and do.
